Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor she is a popular TV host. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her trademark spiky blond tresses and an energised persona on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides straightforward and simple cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the city's most prestigious restaurants, has learned about Italian cuisine and its traditions, and participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking from an early age. After earning an English and Communications degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the industry of restaurants by registering as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. The student says "I loved being a Culinary Institute of American student. I was awed by every moment." I just couldn't get enough pleasure from the experience. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. In her time in Italy she was able to fully be aware of the philosophies behind Italian food and culture that left a lasting impact in her point of view. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve children's lives who are facing difficulties. She is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador which promotes the awareness of children with diabetes. Burrell speaks on her culinary love and imparts her experiences in the food world, as she regularly goes on trips across the USA in both her roles as mentors and speakers. Anne has said throughout her culinary career she is incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to share with others what is essential for her.
