Alicia Machado
Alicia Machado, the beauty queen, actress as well as model, was born Yoseph Alicia Machado Fajardo on December 6, 1976, on the island of Maracay, Venezuela. Alicia has a diverse background. Her mother and father are both of Cuban heritage. Her career has included a significant actor in film, television, and beauty pageants all her career. Alicia Machado began her rise to the top of the list when at 19, she won the title of Miss Venezuela representing Yaracuy. She was awarded Miss Universe 1996 one year following her naming Miss Venezuela. This was the 4th Venezuelan contestant to win the title. The time she served during her time as Miss Universe, however, was not without controversy and unfavorable media attention because of her weight gain in the course of her presidency. Donald Trump who was the Miss Universe Organization's CEO during that time, ridiculed her for her weight gain. Trump addressed her as "Miss Piggy" and forced her to do exercises in front of journalists. This incident led to a lengthy feud with Alicia with Trump.
